He went on to do his surgical internship at Pennsylvania Hospital and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Mino’s thirty-year “love affair” with wine began with a wine appreciation class at Moravian College in 1973. He went on to attend a Bordeaux wine course in Syracuse, New York, where he expanded his wine knowledge and skills over a two year period of monthly blind wine tastings and evaluations.

His wine travels include visits to Sonoma and Napa Valley, New York’s Finger Lakes, Switzerland, the Northern and Central regions of Italy, and the Champagne, Rhone, Burgundy and Loire regions of France.

Dr. Mino has lectured extensively on wine for the past twenty years. His areas of expertise include: the sensory evaluation and analysis of wine, pairing wine with food, and the health benefits of wine. He also designs wine cellars.
