HISTORY

The idea of creating a vineyard on the site of the David Barton Taylor House was conceived by Tom Carroll Jr. shortly after his family purchased the property in 1986. Tom nurtured his dream over the years, and after spending an extended period of time in California, he returned to Bucks County in 2000 to join his parents in forming Crossing Vineyards and Winery.

The first vines were planted in April, 2002, after almost two additional years of preparation. The initial five acre planting included Native American, French Hybrid and Vinifera grapes varieties.

Ten additional acres of Vinifera were planted in April, 2003.

The varieties now grown at Crossing Vineyards include Concord, Steuben, Vidal Blanc, Chambourcin, Chardonnay, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
