Crossing Vineyard’s Barrel Room
boasts a state-of-the-art racking system, manufactured in France.

This “revolutionary” system allows labor saving, quality
enhancing features winemakers in the past could only have dreamed
about. Barrels can be cleaned and rotated in place, and fermentation
can be managed "sur lie." This increases contact time
between the lees, or sediment, and the wine to add complexity and
richness.
The authentic French Oak casks in Crossing Vineyards’ Barrel
Room are used to age the Signature and Estate Series wines, including
Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc in the 2002 vintage,
and the 2003 Viognier, Riesling and Merlot.
American Oak aging enhances the flavor of wines in the Vintner’s
Select Series, including Seyval Blanc and Chambourcin, as well
Crossing Vineyard’s unique blend of French Hybrid and Vinifera
grapes, Vintner’s Select Red.
